ভাবছেন কিভাবে। তাহলে এবার বলি, প্রথমেই এখান থেকে ওয়েবেপজমেকার নামক সফটওয়্যার টি ডাউনলোড করুন। ইনস্টল করার পরই দেখবেন জাভা, পি.এইচ.পি. সহ বিভিন্ন এ্যানিমেশন বা নানা ধরনের এফেক্ট ব্যাবহার করার অপশন রয়েছে। যা ব্যাবহার করার জন্য মনে হয় না আমাকে কিছু বলতে হবে। ব্যাস ডিজাইন করে ফেলুন একটি ওয়েব সাইটের। আপনার যদি নিজস্ব ডোমেইন থাকে তাহলে এর Publish অপশন থেকে সরাসরি Publish করতে পারেন। কিন্তু ডোমেইন না থাকাটাই স্বাভাবিক আর সেক্ষেত্রে কি করবেন বলছি তাও।

এতক্ষণ যা ডিজাইন করা হল তাতো একটি ডিজাইন কিন্তু এতে যে ধরনের এফেক্ট ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে তাতো বেশ কয়কটি ল্যাংগুয়েজের সমাহার। আর সেই প্রোগামটি পেতে File থেকে Export to HTML এ ক্লিক করে এর HTML ভাসর্নটি সেভ করুন। আর ওয়েব পেজ মেকারেও .wss ফরমেটের ফাইলটি সেভ করে রাখুন।

এবার এখানে ক্লিক করুন। যে সাইটটি ওপেন হল তারা ফ্রী সাব ডোমেইন দেয়। তবে সাব ডোমেইন (যেমন my1.ru, do.am, at.ua, vo.uz ইত্যাদি) হলেও খুবই সংক্ষিপ্ত হওয়ায় সাব ডোমেইন গুলোও বেশ ভালোই।

এখানে পছন্দমত নাম দিয়ে রেজিষ্ট্রেশন করুন। আর এপর লগইন করার পর এই সাইট থেকেই ব্লগ, ফোরাম, চ্যাট, গেস্টবুক, মেম্বার রেজিস্ট্রেশন, সাইট পরিদর্শনকারীদের তালিকার অপশন গুলো থেকে আপনার পছন্দ মত সিলেক্ট করে দিন। এরপর আপনার ডিজাইন করা পেজটি যে কোন এফ.টি.পি. সফটওয়্যার এর মাধ্যমে এখানে আপলোড করুন বা ওয়েব পেজ মেকারে থাকা .wss ফরমেটের ফাইলটি ওপেন করে File থেকে Publish অপশনে গিয়ে New তে ক্লিক করে যে নতুন উইন্ডো ওপেন হবে সখানে আপনার সাইটের তথ্যগুলো প্রবেশ করান তারপর OK করে এসে Publish বাটনে ক্লিক করুন।

এডসেন্স চেক যেভাবে ভাঙাবেন

আমি গত কয়েক মাস থেকে এডসেন্স এর চেক পেয়ে আসছি তাই অনেকেই আমাকে অনুরোধ করেছিলেন কিভাবে আমি চেক ভাঙাই তার বিস্তারিত নিয়ে একটি টিউন করতে আমিও কথা দিয়েছিলাম এ মাসের চেক পেলে তা নিয়ে একটি টিউন করবো। ভেবেছিলাম এ মাসে চেক পেতে পাঁচ তারিখ হবে কিন্ত আজ সকালে বাসার ছাদ থেকে দেখলাম ডিএইচএল এর গাড়ি এসেছে আমার বাসার সামনে আর তা থেকে নামছে ডিএইচএল ম্যাসেন্জার টিম এর সদস্যরা আমার আর বুঝতে বাকি রইলো না আমার এ মাসের চেক চলে এসেছে। যাই হোক এখন ভাঙানোর পদ্ধতি সম্বন্ধে বলি।

এটি আমার মে মাসের আয়ের চেক এডসেন্স এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী যে মাসের চেক তার পরের মাসের ত্রিশ তারিখে ছাড়া হয়। কুরিয়ারে আনলে তা তার পরের মাসের পাঁচ তারিখের মধ্যে পাওয়া যায়। আমার ক্ষেত্রেও তার ব্যাতিক্রম নয়। তাই মে মাসে আমার আয়কৃত $438.77 থেকে কুরিয়ারের $28 কেটে $410.77 পাঠানো হয়েছে। এই চেকটির উপরের অংশছিড়ে রেখে নিচের এই অংশ টুকু ব্যাংকে জমা দিতে হয়। এর সামনের দিকে আপনাকে কোন কিছুই করতে হবে না।

এটি পেছনের অংশ এখানে চিন্হিত অংশে আপনার নাম (স্বাক্ষর নয়) লিখবেন। এডসেন্স এ যে নামটি দেয়া আছে সেই নামটি দেবেন যেমন আমার নাম এ Md এর পরে ডট থাকলেও আমি ভুলক্রমে এডসেন্স একাউন্ট খোলার সময় ডট দেইনি তাই আমি এভাবেই নাম লিখি।

আপনার এডসেন্স একাউন্টে যে নাম আছে সেই নামটি দিয়ে যে কোন ব্যাংকে একাউন্ট খুলুন। একাউন্টটি আমার মতে ষ্ট্যান্ডার্ড চাটার্ড অথবা ইসলামী ব্যাকে খুললেই ভালো। চেকটি ভাঙাতে সরকারী ব্যাংকে $5, ইসলামী ব্যাংকে $8-10 আর যেকোন বেসরকরী ব্যাংকে $12-15 চার্জ কাটবে। তবে আমি আগেও বলেছি ব্যাংকের লোকাল ব্রাঞ্চে একাউন্ট খুলতে পারলে টকা কয়েকদিন আগে পাওয়া যায়। এরপর একাউন্ট খোলা হলে আপনার জমা বইয়ের সাথে চেকটি এটাচ করে তার বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা দিয়ে ব্যাংকে জমা দিন প্রথমবার হলে একমাসের কিছু বেশী তারপর থেকে এক মাসের আগেই টাকা পাওয়া যাবে।

এডসেন্স চেক বিষয়ক কিছু TIPS

এ মাসে অনেকেই তাদের প্রথম এডসেন্স চেক পাচ্ছে স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই তারা অস্থির এবং উত্তেজিত। এদের মধ্যে অনেকেই আমাকে ফোন দিয়ে বিভিন্ন বিষয় জানতে চাচ্ছে। তাই ভাবলাম তাদের জন্য এডসেন্স চেক বিষয়ক কিছু কথা নিয়ে একটি টিউন করি। অন্যরা হয়তো এই টিউনটিকে তেমন ভালোভাবে নেবেন না কিন্তু তারপরও যেহেতু এটি একটি টেক ব্লগ। আর টেক ব্লগে এগুলো আসলে সময়ের আলোচিত এবং আকাংখিত বিষয় তাছাড়া বাংলাদেশে এতে সফল ব্যাক্তিদের মধ্যে যেহেতু আমিও একজন তাই সব চিন্তা করে এই নিয়ে লেখা।

এডসেন্স থেকে যখন চেক ইস্যু করা হয়( পেমেন্ট হিস্টোরী পেজে পাবেন) তখন পাবলিশার কে DHL AWB(যারা কুরিয়ারে আনেন, তবে আমি সব পাবলিশারকেই বলবো কুরিয়ারে আনার জন্য তাতে একাউন্ট ব্যান হওয়ার পরও সমস্যা হয় না।) নাম্বারটি দেয়া হয় না এটা দেয়া হয় বেশ কিছুদিন পর। তাই তখন পাবলিশাররা জানতে পারেন না যে তার চেক তখন কোথায় আছে বা কবে তিনি পাবেন। এ সমসস্যার একটি সহজ সমাধান আছে তা হল পেমেন্ট ইস্যু হওয়ার সময় এডসেন্স থেকে চেক নাম্বারটি দেয়া হয়। আর এই চেক নাম্বারটিকেই ডিএইচএল ব্যাবহার করে শিপিং রেফারেন্স হিসেবে। তাই আপনি DHL এ ফোন করে আপনার চেক নাম্বারটিকে শিপিং রেফারেন্স এ খোজ করতে বললে তারা আপনাকে অনেক আগেই আপনার চেক এর বিস্তারিত তথ্য , কখন কোথায় আছে, কবে আসবে তার জানাতে পারবে। অবশ্য এটি আপনার নাম বললেও তারা সার্চ করে বের করতে পারে কিন্তু তা আসলেই কঠিন এবং বেশীরভাগ সময়েই সম্ভব হয় না। তবে যেভাবেই বের করুন না কেন আপনার DHL AWB নাম্বারটি নিতে ভুলবেন না। তাতে আপনি আবার যদি খোঁজ নেন তাহলে DHL AWB নাম্বারটি দিয়েই সহজে খোঁজ নিতে পারবেন।

আর সব এডসেন্স পাবলিশার যারা এখনো চেক বা পেমেন্ট পাননি তাদের জন্য আমার দুটি টিপস :
তা হল- চেক অবশ্যই কুরিয়ারে মাধ্যমে আনবেন যদিও চার্জ কাটা হয় তারপরও। আর এ জন্য আপনার একাউন্টটি অবশ্যই ব্যাংকের লোকাল ব্রাঞ্চে করবেন।

এডসেন্স একাউন্ট বাতিল হলে তা চালু করার পদ্ধতির বিষয়ে একটি সাধারন টিপস নিয়ে এই টিউনটি করা। আসলে এডসেন্স নিয়ে যারা কাজ করে কমবেশী সবাই এটা জানে কিন্তু নতুন কেউ কেউ এটা জানেনা যারা অনেকেই ফোনে এবং ইমেইলে আমার কাছে তাদের একাউন্ট বন্ধ হওয়ার পর এব্যাপারে সমাধানের জন্য পরামর্শ চাইছেন। মূলত তাদের জন্যই ভাবলাম এই পদ্ধতিটি নিয়ে টিউন করি। যদি এটা কারো অপছন্দ হয় তাহলে জানাবেন আমি ডিলেট করে দেব।

যাইহোক মূলকথায় ফিরি। সাধারনত একাউন্ট বাতিল হয়ে গেলে অনেকেরই একটা ক্ষোভ থাকে যে অন্যায় ভাবে তার একাউন্ট বাতিল করা হয়েছে। যেহেতু এটি একটি অটোমেটেড সার্ভিস তাই ভুল হওয়া অস্বাভাবিক নয়। তাই অনেকেই চায় একাউন্ট বাতিল হলে তা অন্তত আরেকবার Reveiw করার সুযোগ পেতে। তাই এডসেন্সেও এটির জন্য আপিল করার পদ্ধতি রয়েছে।
যদি আপনার একাউন্ট বাতিল হবার পর আপনার মনে হয় অন্যায় ভাবে তা বাতিল করা হয়েছে তাহলে আপনি এই লিংকে ক্লিক করে নিম্নের ফরম এর মত যে ফরমটি পাবেন তার মাধ্যমেই আপিল করতে পারবেন এবার সঠিক ভাবে পূরন করে তা সাবমিট করুন।



যদি বিনা কারনে ভুলবশত আপনার একাউন্ট বাতিল হয়ে থাকে তবে তা চালু হয়ে যাবে। আর একাউন্ট বাতিল হবার আগে পেজ ইম্প্রেশন বা সিটিআর দেখ আপনার যদি মনে হয় আপনার একাউন্ট বাতিল হওয়ার সুযোগ আছে তাহলে আপনি সাপোর্ট সেন্টারে গিয়ে আগেই তা জানাতে পারেন তাতে ইনভ্যালিড ক্লিক হলেও একাউন্ট বন্ধ হবার ঝুঁকি কমবে।

What Is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is often considered the more technical part of Web marketing. This is true because SEO does help in the promotion of sites and at the same time it requires some technical knowledge – at least familiarity with basic HTML. SEO is sometimes also called SEO copyrighting because most of the techniques that are used to promote sites in search engines deal with text. Although SEO helps to increase the traffic to one’s site, SEO is not advertising. Of course, you can be included in paid search results for given keywords but basically the idea behind the SEO techniques is to get top placement because your site is relevant to a particular search term, not because you pay.

SEO can be a 30-minute job or a permanent activity. Sometimes it is enough to do some generic SEO in order to get high in search engines – for instance, if you are a leader for rare keywords, then you do not have a lot to do in order to get decent placement. But in most cases, if you really want to be at the top, you need to pay special attention to SEO and devote significant amounts of time and effort to it. The first basic truth you need to learn about SEO is that search engines are not humans. While this might be obvious for everybody, the differences between how humans and search engines view web pages aren’t. Unlike humans, search engines are text-driven. Although technology advances rapidly, search engines are far from intelligent creatures that can feel the beauty of a cool design or enjoy the sounds and movement in movies. Instead, search engines crawl the Web, looking at particular site items (mainly text) to get an idea what a site is about. This brief explanation is not the most precise because as we will see next, search engines perform several activities in order to deliver search results – crawling, indexing, processing, calculating relevancy, and retrieving.

First, search engines crawl the Web to see what is there. This task is performed by e piece of software, called a crawler or a spider (or Googlebot, as is the case with Google). Spiders follow links from one page to another and index everything they find on their way. Having in mind the number of pages on the Web (over 20 billion), it is impossible for a spider to visit a site daily just to see if a new page has appeared or if an existing page has been modified. Sometimes crawlers will not visit your site for a month or two, so during this time your SEO efforts will not be rewarded. But there is nothing you can do about it, so just keep quiet.

After a page is crawled, the next step is to index its content. The indexed page is stored in a giant database, from where it can later be retrieved. Essentially, the process of indexing is identifying the words and expressions that best describe the page and assigning the page to particular keywords. For a human it will not be possible to process such amounts of information but generally search engines deal just fine with this task. Sometimes they might not get the meaning of a page right but if you help them by optimizing it, it will be easier for them to classify your pages correctly and for you – to get higher rankings.

When a search request comes, the search engine processes it – i.e. it compares the search string in the search request with the indexed pages in the database. Since it is likely that more than one pages (practically it is millions of pages) contains the search string, the search engine starts calculating the relevancy of each of the pages in its index to the search string.

There are various algorithms to calculate relevancy. Each of these algorithms has different relative weights for common factors like keyword density, links, or metatags. That is why different search engines give different search results pages for the same search string. What is more, it is a known fact that all major search engines, like Yahoo!, Google, MSN, etc. periodically change their algorithms and if you want to keep at the top, you also need to adapt your pages to the latest changes. This is one reason (the other is your competitors) to devote permanent efforts to SEO, if you’d like to be at the top.

The last step in search engines’ activity is retrieving the results. Basically, it is nothing more than simply displaying them in the browser – i.e. the endless pages of search results that are sorted from the most relevant to the least relevant sites.

It seems that the time when you could easily top the results for a one-word search string is centuries ago. Now, when the Web is so densely populated with sites, it is next to impossible to achieve constant top ratings for a one-word search string. Achieving constant top ratings for two-word or three-word search strings is a more realistic goal. If you examine closely the dynamics of search results for popular one-word keywords, you might notice that it is so easy one week to be in the first ten results and the next one– to have fallen out of the first 30 results because the competition for popular one-word keywords is so fierce and other sites have replaced you.

Of course, you can include one-word strings in your keywords list but if they are not backed up by more expressions, do not dream of high ratings. For instance, if you have a site about dogs, “dog” is a mandatory keyword but if you do not optimize for more words, like “dog owners”, “dog breeds”, “dog food”, or even “canine”, success is unlikely, especially for such a popular keyword. The examples given here are by no means the ultimate truth about how to optimize a dog site but they are good enough to show that you need to think broad when choosing the keywords.

Generally, when you start optimization, the first thing you need to consider is the keywords that describe the content of your site best and that are most likely to be used by users to find you. Ideally, you know your users well and can guess correctly what search strings they are likely to use to search for you. One issue to consider is synonyms. Very often users will use a different word for the same thing. For instance, in the example with the dog site, “canine” is a synonym and it is for sure that there will be users who will use it, so it does not hurt to include it now and then on your pages. But do not rush to optimize for every synonym you can think of – search engines themselves have algorithms that include synonyms in the keyword match, especially for languages like English.

Instead, think of more keywords that are likely to be used to describe your site. Thinking thematically is especially good because search engines tend to rate a page higher if it belongs to a site the theme of which fits into the keyword string. In this aspect it is important that your site is concentrated around a particular theme – i.e. dogs. It might be difficult to think of all the relevant keywords on your own but that is why tools are for. You can try Google’s Keyword Tool to get more suggestions about which keywords are hot and which are not.

When choosing the keywords to optimize for, you need to consider not only their relevancy to your site and the expected monthly number of searches for these particular keywords. Very often narrow searches are more valuable because the users that come to your site are those that are really interested in your product. If we go on with the dog example, you might discover that the “adopt a dog” keyphrase brings you more visitors because you have a special section on your site where you give advice on what to look for when adopting a dog. This page is not of interest of current dog owners but to potential dog owners only, who might be not so many in number but are your target audience and the overall effect of attracting this niche can be better than attracting everybody who is interested in dogs in general. So, when you look at the numbers of search hits per month, consider the unique hits that fit into the theme of your site.

2. Keyword Density

After you have chosen the keywords that describe your site and are supposedly of interest to your users, the next step is to make your site keyword-rich and to have good keyword density for your target keywords. Keyword density is a common measure of how relevant a page is. Generally, the idea is that the higher the keyword density, the more relevant to the search string a page is. The recommended density is 3-7% for the major 2 or 3 keywords and 1-2% for minor keywords.

Although there are no strict rules, try optimizing for a reasonable number of keywords – 5 or 10 is OK. If you attempt to optimize for a list of 300, you will soon see that it is just not possible to have a good keyword density for more than a few keywords, without making the text sound artificial and stuffed with keywords. And what is worse, there are severe penalties (including ban from the search engine) for keyword stuffing because this is considered an unethical practice that tries to manipulate search results.

3. Keywords in Special Places

Keywords are very important not only as quantity but as quality as well – i.e. if you have more keywords in the page title, the headings, the first paragraphs – this counts more that if you have many keywords at the bottom of the page. The reason is that the URL (and especially the domain name), file names and directory names, the page title, the headings for the separate sections are more important than ordinary text on the page and therefore, all equal, if you have the same keyword density as your competitors but you have keywords in the URL, this will boost your ranking incredibly, especially with Yahoo!.

The domain name and the whole URL of a site tell a lot about it. The presumption is that if your site is about dogs, you will have “dog”, “dogs”, or “puppy” as part of your domain name. For instance, if your site is mainly about adopting dogs, it is much better to name your dog site “dog-adopt.net” than “animal-care.org”, for example, because in the first case you have two major keywords in the URL, while in the second one you have no more than one potential minor keyword.

When hunting for keyword rich domain names, don’t get greedy. While from a SEO point of view it is better to have 5 keywords in the URL, just imagine how long and difficult to memorize the URL will be. So you need to strike a balance between the keywords in the URL and site usability, which says that more than 3 words in the URL is a way too much.

File names and directory names are also important. Often search engines will give preference to pages that have a keyword in the file name. For instance http://mydomain.com/dog-adopt.html is not as good as http://dog-adopt.net/dog-adopt.html but is certainly better than http://mydomain.com/animal-care.html. The advantage of keywords in file names over keywords in URLs is that they are easier to change, if you decide to move to another niche, for example.
